Cerritos College Student Accessibility Services (SAS) provides programming and special services to students with disabilities including mobility, visual, hearing, speech, psychological and other health impairments, as well as learning and developmental disabilities. TASK offers free workshops on the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process for parents, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and assistive technologies, and special education for children ages 0-26 years.

PCDA offers music therapy as a unique opportunity to children with developmental disabilities, neurological impairments, and autistic spectrum disorders. It can support development in communication, cognition, motor skills, and social emotional development.

Get a swimming lesson for individuals with disabilities

Pools of Hope offers swimming lessons for individuals with disabilities. Classes teach participants how to swim and are based on American Red Cross’ learn-to-swim program. Classes combine skills and instructions in how to swim safely.

Dial-A-Ride is a shared, curb-to-curb transportation service provided for residents who live in Pasadena, San Marino, Altadena, and the other unincorporated Los Angeles County areas in the program’s service area (i.e., Chapman Woods, Kinneloa area, and the unincorporated area of the City of San Gabriel).

Pasadena Transit Dial-A-Ride uses the region’s transit Reduced Fare TAP card system for its membership eligibility process. Riders can apply online. Dial-A-Ride is a shared, curb-to-curb transportation service for eligible Pasadena residents.

ICLC’s staff helps veterans who are experiencing homelessness file disability claims, get discharge upgrades, navigate complex benefit systems, avoid eviction, and expunge minor criminal offenses from their records.

ICLC’s staff helps individuals, families, and people living with disabilities apply for and maintain social security benefits, general relief, and other benefits.

Get training for caretakers of individuals with developmental disabilities

The Behavior Intervention Service (BIS) trains and supports primary caretakers/family members to reduce problem behaviors of individuals with special needs. Caretakers learn to identify the potential cause behind the challenging behavior, implement preventative strategies, and get better outcomes for the behavior.

Get education and training for adults with disabilities

LSS San Gabriel Valley provides social and volunteer opportunities for individuals experiencing intellectual or developmental disabilities while also reinforcing basic life skills and independence. Referrals are made through qualified Regional Centers.
