March 21: LuskinOIC | UCLA Center for Cerebral Palsy Professional Conference and Family Forum

Join the UCLA Center for Cerebral Palsy for their annual professional conference and family forum. More than 50 PTs and families will join together at for a day of knowledge, networking and resources to empower kids with CP at LuskinOIC’s downtown campus.

Attendees will hear from UCLA Center for Cerebral Palsy Faculty including Director Dr. Saroush Baghdadi and Dr. Eileen Fowler, sharing the latest on Growing Up with CP. The event will be highlighted by Dr. Mark D. Peterson Charles E. Lytle, Jr. Endowed Research Professor at the University of Michigan-Medicine and a Fulbright Scholar. He researches health and chronic disease associated with disabilities, particularly cerebral palsy. He has over 200 publications and leads the development of Clinical Practice Guidelines for Cerebral Palsy.

The event will culminate with a full resource fair including community partners from Disability Resource Center, Regional Center, Abilitease, Socal Trykers, Go Baby Go, LuskinOIC Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, PlayLA, Inclusive Sol, Angel City Sports, Inclusion Matters / Shane’s Inspiration.

9/13 | Triumph Foundation: Superheroes 5K – Irvine, CA

Triumph Foundation is one of the most impactful organizations in the country providing direct assistance to those living with Paralysis. Thrive Adaptive will have the honor and privilege of providing first-aid medical support to the participants of all abilities throughout their annual 5K fundraiser in Irvine, including more than 50 athletes with disabilities.

Oct 11th: Triumph Foundation: Over-The-Line Baseball Tournament | Anaheim

On October 11, Dozens of children, adults and veterans with disabilities will play in a fun filled day of modified adaptive baseball. Join Thrive Adaptive at Miracle League Orange County Pioneer Park alongside our community partners at Triumph Foundation as we keep the athletes cool and safe throughout the day.

August 5-7: LuskinOIC Annual Cerebral Palsy Summer Camp

LuskinOIC is actively seeking aspiring clinical professionals to volunteer at their annual summer camp for children with Cerebral Palsy being held August 5-7 at their campus in Downtown Los Angeles

The camp specifically designed by LuskinOIC Rehabilitation staff for kids with CP in collaboration with community partners Angel City Sports will allow our volunteers hands-on experience with disabilities

May 16: Long Beach VA Adaptive Sports Expo | Long Beach

WHAT IS IT?

A full day exposition allowing for participation and exploration in a wide variety of adaptive sports to increase awareness and accessibility of local adaptive sports programs.

Angel City Sports: Adaptive Functional Fitness Class – Burbank, CA

Join our community partners from Angel City Sports at Strange Strength and Conditioning on the first Sunday every month for an adaptive functional fitness class coached by 2X Fittest Neuro Major Woman in the World, Anna Stern.

The class is appropriate for people ages 13 and up. People with all forms of disabilities are welcome

Participants should feel free to bring a family member or caregiver for assistance.
