Wise & Healthy Aging’s Transportation and Mobility Services offers curb to curb van transportation at low cost for seniors and people with disabilities who live in Santa Monica. Services can be used to go to doctor appointments, attend a class, and attend recreational activities.

ACTION Food Pantry provides food assistance to income eligible individuals, seniors, individuals living with disability, unemployed or homeless individuals, and single parents.

Get respite care for caregivers of seniors

El Encanto Healthcare & Habilitation Center provides short-term residential respite care for seniors and individuals with disabilities to help primary caregivers. Services include physical therapy, wound care, recreational activities, and meals.

Get transportation to medical and dental appointments

The City of Whittier Dial-a-Ride (DAR) Plus program for seniors and individuals with a permanent or temporary qualifying disability provides transportation services to medical and dental appointments outside of City of Whittier limits.

Get home based support services for adults

Pathways Volunteer Hospice provides a range of in-home care giving support services for seniors and individuals with disabilities or chronic illness. Services include an assessment, developing a plan of care, and coordinating with other agencies.

Get help paying utilities

The Pasadena Department of Water and Power (PWP) offers three income-qualified financial assistance programs for paying electric bills. The programs include a monthly bill credit, and help offsetting electricity costs associated with home medical equipment for qualifying seniors or people with disabilities.

Get financial assistance for rent

HACLB offers Rental Assistance Programs to provide financial and technical assistance services to seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and individuals with HIV in Long Beach. Waitlist may be closed.

Get Alzheimer’s day care

The City of Gardena sponsors an Alzheimer’s Day Care Resource Center at St. John Lutheran Church. The Center’s goal is to improve the quality of life of older persons who are socially isolated because of physical disability or memory loss, and to keep them out of convalescent homes. The Center is currently closed.

Join a recreation center for families

City of Lakewood recreation center offers open play days for preschoolers, family activities, adult exercise, dance classes, youth sports, after school homework help, teen programs, and adaptive programs for people with disabilities.

Get behavioral therapy for individuals with special needs

Leaps n Boundz provides home-based and community-based behavioral services for individuals with special needs including autism, developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities. Staff provide behavior analysis and therapeutic recreational programs such as adaptive sports, social skills group sessions, preschool adapted physical education, camp programs, and community building activities.

Get discounted curb-to-curb transportation service

Antelope Valley Transit Authority’s Dial-a-Ride Service offers seniors age 62 and older, and people with disabilities, discount curb-to-curb van service. A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) may ride with the individual at no cost.
